GK Films steers 'Corvette'
GK Films will fully finance and produce "Little White Corvette," steering the project away from previously reported backer Media Rights Capital.Pic, written by Michael Diliberti, stars "Easy A" thesp Emma Stone. Diliberti was also attached to direct, but sources close to the project say that's no longer the case and producers are currently out to other helmers.Diliberti had two other projects set up last year. Scribe sold pitches "Untitled" and "The Big Sayonara" to Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox, respectively.Scott Aversano and Will Russell-Shapiro will produce the film, which centers around two down-and-out siblings who must travel to Miami to try and sell a duffel bag of cocaine their dead father left in the trunk of a corvette (presumably a little white one). MRC, which had raised its comedy profile lately with pics including Seth MacFarlane's "Ted," was attached to the former as recently as September.GK Films has a slate of high-profile pics skedded for this year, including the Brad Pitt-toplined "World War Z," Ben Affleck's "Argo" and the Tim Burton-helmed Johnny Depp starrer "Dark Shadows." Shingle is also developing an untitled Freddy Mercury biopic. Contact Rachel Abrams at Rachel.Abrams@variety.com
